engine optimization for high website ranking is asking for
trouble.
Many
people have the misconception that all you need to do is get a
website online, and you have customers. NOTHING could be
more wrong. There are millions and millions of sites, and if
you don't advertise them in some way, no one ever sees them. Top
search engine placement is the most effective
"advertising" method for bringing targeted visitors to
visit your site if you can get it. Targeted visitors means
potential customers. But beware.
Just
check around webmaster forums and you'll be surprised by how many
people get banned, or have lower ranking on search engines because
of trying to hard to get high ranking. There are also no shortage
of companies or people offering "guaranteed top 10
ranking" or making similar claims.
The
fact is, yes, some people use tricks to get high ranking (some use
tricks we don't even know). But the websites they do this for are
only on top for a while before getting banned.
If
you're just trying to make a quick buck before that happens, then
that kind of service might be for you. But we are in it for the
"long haul" and so are our clients. We take an ethical
approach.
Search
engines are constantly changing their rules for page rank because
optimizers are constantly finding new ways to cheat. The bottom
line is that the engines want to offer the most useful, relevant
search results to those who use them. So the most important thing
for ranking well in the long run, is to design a website that is
made for humans to see and use, not designed for the SE's.
